The Adventure Begins:

Day 1

  • The expedition begins in Iquitos where you will be picked up from your hotel or airport (you need to be in Iquitos by 2pm). Then the expedition proceeds to Nauta (about 2 hours south of Iquitos), where the guide will briefly show the town and get some supplies.

  • Next, you will board a boat and set sail to the amazon jungle. The guide will explain the next steps of the expedition and also show you some local wildlife. The journey culminates at the magnificent confluence – the meeting point of the Marañón and Ucayali Rivers, where the legendary Amazon is born.

  • The expedition proceeds to the Yarapa Cumaceba Reserve, a little reserve managed by the local inhabitants. Quick stop for lunch and loading the boat with camping supplies.

  • The journey continues in search of the the elusive pink river dolphin and its grey companion, the tucuxi. After a while, the expedition goes deep into the jungle to find a place to set up camping for the night. After dinner, the adventure truly begins. Join the experienced guide on a thrilling night trek into the heart of the rainforest. With eyes adjusted to the darkness, you'll seek out nocturnal creatures that emerge after sunset

Day 2

  • The day begins at the crack of dawn, as you board a comfortable boat and head out while the rainforest awakens. Keep your eyes peeled for exotic birds emerging from their slumber and playful monkeys swinging through the branches. The expedition navigates the lifeblood of the rainforest – its mighty rivers – searching for elusive wildlife like caiman basking on the riverbank or playful river otters frolicking in the water.

  • After a satisfying breakfast back at the camp, your expert guide will lead you deeper into the rainforest. Learn about the towering giants that have stood for centuries, their intricate relationships with the plants that thrive beneath them. Discover the fascinating world of rainforest fruits, used by Amazonian people for generations, as your guide unveils their traditional uses and medicinal properties. Be on the lookout – this lush wilderness might reveal more hidden treasures in the form of fascinating insects, brightly colored birds, or even shy mammals.

  • Following lunch, it's time to test your angling skills! We'll provide everything you need to try your hand at catching piranhas, catfish, and a variety of other local species. The thrill of the catch and the satisfaction of contributing to your evening meal is an unforgettable experience. As the sun dips below the horizon, casting long shadows across the rainforest, we'll gather together to enjoy the fruits of your labor, a delicious dinner prepared with your freshly caught catch.

Day 3

  • The adventure begins in the morning. The expedition will journey by boat to serene lakes, surrounded by the lush Peruvian rainforest. Keep your eyes peeled for playful monkeys swinging through the trees, and the slow-moving charm of sloths hanging out in the canopy. We'll also be on the lookout for the magnificent giant lily pads, their enormous leaves a marvel of nature.

  • After breakfeast, you'll embark on a short trek led by the experienced guide. Learn some essential survival skills that will empower you in the wilderness. Discover how to find clean drinking water, identify edible plants, and navigate the rainforest with confidence.

  • Following a satisfying lunch, we'll set sail back towards Iquitos, reminiscing about the wonders we witnessed and the valuable knowledge we gained.
